CBT & COVID-19 INFORMATION HUB

Welcome to our community information hub for all things related to COVID-19 and Congregation Beth Torah. We will continue to reach out to our members via email updates which you can find below.

The safety and well-being of our CBT community is a top priority. Pikuah nefesh, protecting human life, overrides almost every other Jewish value. All CBT communal activities are suspended through April 30.

ZOOM CONNECTION (HELP GUIDE)

  • Go to https://zoom.us on a device (laptops, cell phones, and tablets work as well as a desktop)
  • Create an account. Click “SIGN UP.” IT’S FREE. If you have a Google or Facebook account, leave the email address blank and click “Sign in with Google” or “Sign in with Facebook.” Alternatively, you can create an account using an email address and password. It does *not* have to be your work email.
  • Download the ZOOM Cloud Meetings app. You’ll need to download the app. You cannot join from a web browser.
  • Open the app and sign in. Use the same Google/Facebook account or email/password you used to sign up.
  • If you’re planning to use a headset or headphones, test them now. Make sure the audio input and output are set correctly. Go to https://zoom.us/test.

TO JOIN A PROGRAM OR MEETING
  • Click the provided link to join. You can also open the Zoom application, click Join Meeting, and enter the Meeting ID (this is not a phone number.)
  • Call using Internet Audio. You will also see an option to dial in. We recommend you use Internet Audio as the sound quality is much better than when you dial in by phone.
  • Be sure to give the app permission to use your microphone and camera.

DURING THE MEETING
  • Turn on video. This makes for a more personal and engaging experience.
  • Mute yourself when not talking. Click the microphone button to mute or un-mute.

Shalom…virtual hugs…keep in touch!

(Don’t forget the Beth Torah Directory can be opened through ShulCloud…maybe make a new friend by just calling and checking in on someone you don’t know!)
