CBT & COVID-19 INFORMATION HUB

Welcome to our community information hub for all things related to COVID-19 and Congregation Beth Torah. We will continue to reach out to our members via email updates which you can find below.

The safety and well-being of our CBT community is a top priority. Pikuah nefesh, protecting human life, overrides almost every other Jewish value. All CBT communal activities are suspended through March 31. We will be re-evaluating frequently. Live streaming will be available online March 27 & 28.

Biblical characters provide an accessible entry point to Jewish texts for the beginners in your community and represent a deep well of wisdom for all. What do the heroes and villains of our stories have to teach us about ourselves, today? Focusing on biblical characters will allow you to explore topics like human nature, family dynamics, and leadership.

In addition, we are offering several free mini-classes on Beth Torah’s Facebook group page.
10AM Sunday-Friday, Coffee Talk and Busy Soul are five minute snippets on Jewish words of wisdom.
6:30 PM Tuesday, Positive Judaism offers Jews of all backgrounds a pathway to enhanced well-being and happiness. Drawing on 3,000 years of ancient wisdom and the modern science of well-being, we will use Rabbi Darren Levine’s book and group discussion to approach our relationship, careers, health and coping through crisis using Jewish values, prayers and tradition.

Please email Beri Schwitzer at beri@congregationbethtorah.org if you are interested in any of these courses or have questions about using ZOOM.

ARE MEETINGS STILL TAKING PLACE AS SCHEDULED?

At this time, meetings are taking place virtually. Please check with your meeting leader for details.

WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH PASSOVER AT CBT?

This year, Coronavirus brought disorder to Passover. How will Seder (which literally means “order”) take place in a world that is anything but orderly? We are here to help put some “order” back into Passover.
Watch for more updates…
  • Congregational Second Seder has been canceled. Check back soon for a special video from Rabbi Zelony for how to lead a Seder.
